On 19th May 2017, a group of hardy volunteers will set off from Bowness on Solway, on the West coast of England, on a four day trek across the breadth of the country. Following the great wall of the Roman Emperor Hadrian, the group will cover 90 miles and over 5,700 ft in elevation before finishing at Wallsend, Newcastle.
The motley crew may not be the most obvious of adventurers but will give the long days (30 miles on day two being the longest day) their absolute all. The team have been in good spirits on their training walks and are looking forward to taking on the challenge.
The team are raising funds for the local charity, Middlesbrough & Teesside Philanthropic Foundation, a registered charity set up by Teessiders, for Teessiders. They help businesses and individuals join together to make Middlesbrough and Teesside better places in which to live, work and do business.
